About Gau Maata

Nature has created several breeds of deshi cows depending on the environmental factors of different regions in India. They include Gir, Red Sindhi, Sahiwal, Hallikar, Kankrej, Gangatiri, Dangi, and many others. Cows have been a part of the Indian culture for thousands of years and provide milk from which we get A2 Desi Cow Ghee, a golden nectar. Read on to learn more about deshi cows and why a cow-based lifestyle is the best for humans.

Cow - a Devine Mother

We believe that all deshi cow breeds of Indian origin are best. And they nurture us with their mother-like love and milk.

They have numerous physical super-qualities. One most important of them is A2 milk which is best for humans. Another one is its emotional attachment to cowherds and their families. They sense their family members’ illnesses and potential health issues. So, while grazing in the forest, they eat those herbs that can cure them. As a result, their milk becomes a medicine containing herbal elements. Thus they protect cowherds.

Indian cows have a hump on their back, which is a sign of their origin, thus called deshi. As per Ayurveda, the hump has Suryaketu nadi that helps the cow absorb the Sun energy and transfers it to milk, making it look golden. This milk works as an immunity booster and is ideal for people of all ages.

These and many other good qualities make it a special pet in Indian culture. We also worship cows since they nurture us like a divine mother.

The Gir Cow

The Saurashtra region is the origin of the Gir cow breed. It is one of the breeds of humped cattle (also called Zebu) that originated in the Indian subcontinent.

If we talk about the cows in our cowshed (Gaushala), all of them are of deshi breeds. And most of them are of the Gir breed.

Being native to this place, they are accustomed to all the weather conditions of this region. And they can adapt to any environmental changes with ease. Hence their immunity and disease-resistance capacity are high. As a result, they are popular not only in Gujarat but also in Maharashtra and Rajasthan.

Grazing in The Nature

A cow produces the best milk when it is happy, healthy, and contended. And it has been scientifically proven.

Sad cows or cows living in uncomfortable environments can’t produce milk in desired quantity and quality. Such milk lacks the nutrients it should contain. So we ensure that our cows live and graze freely in nature.

We have well-setup and well-managed farms and gaushala near Bileshwar of Porbandar and Tarsai village of Jamnagar district. Surrounded by the forest of the Barda mountain range, both localities have pollution-free environments. These areas have large pastures where our cows love grazing. As a result, they produce the best quality A2 milk.
